More than 1500 collectors benefited by the Ecopontos Project

In 2019, 3R expanded its Ecopontos project in the city of Beira. Throughout the year, more than 1500 citizens took recyclable materials to more than 20 collection points established in partnerships with local organizations and entrepreneurs.

More than 3 million meticais were paid by 3R for materials such as aluminum cans, plastic bottles, chairs and broken basins. This resource increased the income of families and strengthened environmental awareness in the municipality.

“When people realize that garbage is worth money, we no longer see so much material scattered on the streets. Now, that bottle of soft drink has the right destination: a  recycling bin (ecoponto) partner of 3R,” says Rodolfo Assane, ecoponto manager of 3R in Beira.
