INFRASTRUCTURES

Urban waste management is a growing problem in Mozambique. In many municipalities, the cost of waste collection and treatment is increasing pressure on municipal budgets and the continued practice of uncontrolled dumps is generating greenhouse gas emissions and health threats to urban populations.

3R believes that the construction of waste treatment infrastructure is fundamental to create the volumes needed to drive the recycling value chain in the country. We have 2 operational Material Recovery Centers in Matola and Beira, with a processing capacity of about 150 tons per month. Different types of plastics, metal and paper are processed and conditioned for transportation to national and international recycling industries.

Our plans go even further, we intend to invest in local transformation of materials. We will soon start the construction of the first electronic waste treatment center in Mozambique to process computers, batteries, telephones and solar panels.
